RIDGELY MIDDLE SCHOOL FIELD HOCKEY, 6th, 7th & 8th Grade
Registration and check deadline is July 1st, 2025

Cost $195/student (make checks out to LTRC)

RMS Field Hockey is an after-school field hockey program for Ridgely Middle School’s 6th, 7th & 8th grade students and is sponsored by LTRC.

Summer Training Sessions: Tuesdays and Thursdays starting August 12th in the afternoon till tryouts. These will be laid-back and fun training sessions to allow players to practice skills, review rules, and play scrimmage games. This is a great way to try out a new sport, meet the team, and see if you’d like to try out. We have extra hockey sticks if you need to borrow a stick before tryouts. You must register for the team, bring shin guards, and a mouth guard to participate in summer training sessions.

TRYOUTS:  These will be held the first or second week of school. Expect tryouts to take 1-2 days. The date, time, and information will be communicated to registrants via email (please clearly print your email on registration forms). Shin guards, a mouth guard, and an outdoor field hockey stick are needed for tryouts and the season. Players will not be permitted to try out if they do not have their safety equipment. This is a competitive recreational program. Due to the limited amount of local playing options for games/refs, there will only be one team consisting of 18 players for games, but all players can continue to play as part of the practice squad.  This program is sponsored by LTRC and will allow players from various schools if needed, to create a full roster.

GAMES/PRACTICES: Typically, practices and games will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:15-5:15 p.m. at Ridgely MS, Timonium ES, or Seminary Park. Parents are expected to provide transportation to Seminary Park for practices. A parent carpool schedule will be created for games. The team will play home and away games with several private schools, public schools, and Rec teams in the area. Each parent is expected to carpool to a few games and practices.

NOTE:  Students will not be permitted to try out if payment and registration are not received first.  Attach a check payable to LTRC to the registration forms.  This will reserve a tryout spot and will ONLY be deposited upon team selection after tryouts.  In the event your child does not make the team, your check will be destroyed.
